Ola Soneye
Ola is a published author, speaker and transformational coach specialising in unpaid caring, carer inclusion and wellbeing. Drawing on more than 20 years in technology and leadership, alongside her lived experience as a long-term unpaid carer, she helps organisations better recognise and support the unpaid carers in their workforce.
Every organisation has people quietly balancing their work with caring responsibilities for someone they love. Many may never describe themselves as carers, yet caring can shape their experience of the working day, the opportunities they pursue and whether they feel able to continue in their careers.
Drawing on her lived experience, leadership background and work with organisations, Ola brings this often-hidden reality into view. Through relatable examples and moments of reflection, the session helps participants better understand the challenges employees may be managing alongside their professional responsibilities, and explore how everyday workplace culture can make a meaningful difference.
Participants will leave with:
A deeper understanding of unpaid care and the many forms it can take.
Greater awareness of why caring responsibilities often remain hidden at work.
Insight into how working and caring can affect wellbeing, confidence and career decisions.
Practical ways to help create a more understanding and carer-inclusive workplace.
