Claire Webster

Claire Webster is the Founder and President of Caregiver Crosswalk Inc., a consulting firm dedicated to providing education and support services that help families navigate Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Caring for a family member or friend living with a disease can be deeply meaningful - but it can also be emotionally, physically, and practically overwhelming. Employees who are balancing caregiving with their professional responsibilities may experience significant stress, uncertainty, fatigue, and concerns about their loved one’s safety and future.

In this engaging and compassionate conference, dementia care expert and former care partner Claire Webster draws upon more than 20 years of personal and professional experience to help participants better understand dementia and navigate the caregiving journey with greater knowledge, confidence, and resilience.

Combining evidence-based information with practical strategies and lived experience, Claire addresses the everyday realities faced by care partners - from changes in memory, behaviour, and communication to caregiver burnout, healthcare-system navigation, and planning for future care.

Participants will leave feeling better informed, emotionally supported, and more prepared to make decisions that promote the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of both the person living with a disease and those who care for them.

During this conference, participants will learn about:

  • The emotional and physical effects of caregiving

  • How to recognize the warning signs of caregiver stress and burnout

  • Practical approaches to stress management, resilience, and caregiver wellbeing

  • How to recognize when care at home may no longer be safe or sustainable

  • How to identify appropriate services, resources, and public or private care options

  • Important considerations when planning for future care

Following the conference, participants will be:

  • Better equipped to respond to common caregiving challenges

  • Better able to recognize safety concerns and caregiver burnout

  • More aware of available services and sources of support

  • Clearer about possible next steps in the caregiving journey

  • Reassured that they are not alone
