Tash (she/her) is an Inclusion and Diversity Consultant, presenter, speaker. She provides valuable insight into how to remove barriers associated with diversity & inclusion.
This interactive session is designed for people managers who want to build inclusive, respectful, and psychologically safe workplaces for LGBTQIA+ colleagues. Rather than focusing solely on terminology or awareness, the session centres on the practical role managers play in shaping day-to-day experiences of belonging, safety, and equity.
Participants will explore how power, culture, and organisational norms can unintentionally exclude LGBTQIA+ people, and what inclusive leadership looks like in practice, from everyday language and decision-making to responding confidently to bias, microaggressions, or harmful behaviour.
The session creates space for reflection, honest discussion, and skill-building, supporting managers to move from good intent to meaningful action.
The format is engaging and reflective, combining insight, real-world examples, and practical tools managers can apply immediately within their teams.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
Develop a stronger understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities and lived experiences in the workplace
Recognise how leadership behaviours, organisational systems, and team culture can foster inclusion or reinforce exclusion
Identify common workplace barriers, biases, and microaggressions affecting LGBTQIA+ colleagues
Reflect on their own role, responsibility, and influence as people managers
Apply practical strategies to build inclusive, respectful, and psychologically safe team environments
Respond more confidently and appropriately to biased language, behaviours, or situations
